ExoticSkis.comDas amerikanische Skimagazin ExoticSkis.com von Eric Edelstein hatte diesen Winter Gelegenheit alle edelwiser Skimodelle in Vermont ausführlich zu testen – und ist dabei ins schwärmen geraten. Es zahlt sich aus die ausführlichen Testreviews und Kommentare von einer Reihe von Skifahrern zu lesen. Alle edelwiser Modelle wurden mit mindestens 9 bis 10 (out of 10) bewertet. Einige Eindrücke:

SWING: A really, really easy-to-carve, versatile fronside ski that hooks up nicely along its extremely large sweet-spot and can give any level skier great feedback underfoot. Surprising grip on hard surfaces for such an easy-skiing ski. This model is consistently a top-ranked carving ski by the folks over at http://www.carving-ski.de, and I now I can see why. I would hesitate to put a 250 lb person on this ski since their sheer weight may overpower the ski.

SPEED: Superb all-terrain, low-effort carver (with emphasis on packed conditions) with the ability to lay down serious race-like arcs at slow or high speeds at high or low edge angles when asked. “Athletic” stretched version of the “Swing” model to reach the heart of advanced and expert skiers who like the speed and performance of a GS ski, but want more all-terrain handling and ability to float respectably in the soft snow when available. Perhaps one of the only “all-mountain” carvers that actually performs at high levels in both hardpack on-piste and softer snow conditions.

FIRNIS: Stronger-than-normal twintip all-mountain ski with remarkable carving ability and stability at speed. While most “all mountain” skis simply perform mediocre at everything, the Edelwiser Firnis really works well at nearly everything. Not a fluffy twintip as some skis are in this category.This ski can take a beating, or be finessed.

WIENERSCHNITZER (Prototype):This is a serious, experts-only, high octane racing machine capable of skiing at moderate speeds if asked and correctly operated. Race-stock performance in a modified carver chassis. I became addicted to this ski – plain and simple. Better get in shape…This ski will cause you to have your ticket pulled at slopes in the U.S.A. over and over again. No question. Please Edelwiser…bring this ski to market !
